Yipeeee...... it is friday and this morning P didnt cry at all and she walked frm side gate all the way to parade sq on her own with smile on her face. We survived the first week, P managed to buy her own lunch today. I supposed it is a very small portion as she has lunch again when she went to student care. She told me she has 2 serving of beehoon ard 4pm then cake and green bean soup for teabreak ard 445pm... OMG...

Today she brought home the spelling list. Thats the beginning of stress.... We will survive.....

Less time to watch tv

She has started P1, slowly settling into the routine. Though she is still having separation anxiety but is getting better. Teachers from student care said tt she is doing fine now. I can see that she is enjoying herself....

After her daily reading, she told me her tv time is getting shorter now.... I feel sad for her, as watching tv is her form of relaxation.... Sigh......

Stress

Sometimes i wonder if i m goin to P1 with P.... I m feeling the stresss especially when she refuse to go student care....

I still remember when i was in P1, I was nt prepared... I only know the alphabets, tt all since i hav never attend kindy..... but i survive......

The combination of laziness n kiasuness on P really press my button. A trip down to tcm, the doc told me i have slight high BP. Great.... tt is something i not looking forward to, which will mean long term medication.

Just praying very hard that everything will be ok........

Student care

P started in student care in mid of dec, hoping that she will get used to the routine of nt napping. The first 2 days was cool, she was excited. Came the 3rd day, she refused to go. The chinese teacher feedbacked to me on 2nd day that P chinese is nt good n asked if i considering tuition for her. What the heck, it is only her 2nd day attending student care and she has such high expectation.

Had a chat with the teacher again this morning, she told me whatever they did in student care is k2 foundation.... Indeed she has high expectation.

Perhaps we nt doing enuff to prepare P for P1, but then again y stressing a 6yo so much.... Just wana see her enjoys goin to school. She no need to be top 10 in class but will be a bonus if she is.....

Friday will be her first day, hope she will enjoy her first day in P1. Partly P is a stuborn kid, plus a bit of laziness.... It is time  we need to stop MIO plan....

P1 orientation

P cried when we took her to oriention. She is the only 1 out of the 240 P1 kids who cry..... Sigh..... Partly is because she is tired.... Saw her classmates, she is nt the shortest....

I m impressed with the principal, she is very practical. She kept emphasising that we parents ought to believe in our kids as all of them have hidden talents. She told parents to encourage the children to read books rather than ipad, all great men and women read alot. She actually reminded me again about the rolls of a parents to nurture rather than pushing them to do what i wnt them to......

All books and uniforms are ready. The chances of getting into school after school care is zero. The after school care that i have in mind is full..... No choice but to sign up for another one, which is just opposite home, provide transport to after school care. They emphasize on spelling and maths (no complaining there).

I just hope P will enjoys her primary school life.

Making new frens

Told P tt none of classmates is going to the same school as her and asked how she felt abt it. To my surprise she told m its OK, i will just make new frens like making new frens in playground.

I m shocked by her reply, she is optimistic abt it rather than worried abt change of environment. She is looking forward to Primary. Her daycare has prepared her for primary very well.

Children's Day

P spend her children's day in Adelaide. She had lotsa fun in playground n beach. Once holiday ended, it was back to school. When i picked her up after school, she has a bagful of gifts. Our favourite gift is by Teacher S, it was a scrapbook of outing by the K2. It is a very meaningful gift. Thank you for the time and effort for making the scrapbook, it is priceless. From the photos, can see that all the kids have grown up so much in this 10 mth.......

P oso got a very personal gift from Teacher L. A book with her name n besties in it. She was over the moon when she read the title.

Thank you all for all the gifts. P really like them.

Playground

During the trip, we spend alot of time in the playground. Playground here are very children friendly, and everyone follows the rules. It is like a big melting pot where children of all races and religions play together and have fun. P blends in pretty well, making new frens and having fun. If only the adults are the same then there will not be wars.

All the kids are so lovely, they tok abt everything. P's vocab improved quite a bit and so is her courage. She will walk up to the kids in playground and intro herself and asked if she can play with them. Whereas i sit under the sun n see them play..... life is good

Memories

Did some cleaning today... Clearing up spaces for new things.... Found P's old clothes, there were so small. Looking at her now she has grown so much... Found her first panties, she wore them in N1. I remember having a hard time finding xs panties for her...

Memories floating back just looking at those old clothes......

Life is short

CP dropped by the office and told me CJ was admitted to ICU last evening. Thats explains why she was late today. She looked tired and her eyes were swollen from crying when she walked in. We kept quiet and didnt utter a word. She gave us some instructions of what need to be done for the upcoming week.

After she settled down, she told me CJ was admitted in ICU for shortness of breath. Then told me that doc said he has less than 6 mth to live which means he might nt even make it to try the new chemo med. I felt sad and sorry for her. No matter how mentally well prepared u are, it will still be hard to go thru whatever she is goin thru.

CJ was my inspiration. I have learnt alot from his experience. I learnt to loosen up and smile more. I m praying for you.

Registration

The daycare has arranged for the kids to visit 3 primary schools. P went for the 2nd primary school visit yesterday. During the visit, they experienced buying food and stationaries in the tuckshop and bookshop. Seems like she is somehow mentally prepared for the next transition.

My little warrior is goin to primary school. Time flies. She came home asking which school she is going, good to know that she in enthu abt the whole thing. Whereas for me, i m worried abt the registration and transition. Will she get into the school tt is near to home and after school care. Is she ready for P1, so on and so forth......

I must say daycare really prepare them for the next phase. Homework on weekend to let them have a feel of hw. Setting up tuckshop corner for them experience with buying own food and money matters.

Perhaps i need not worry so much, like the chinese saying 船到桥头自然直.

Busy March

ATM told us that he will be travelling to Perth for work. Yipee came out from my mouth, adhoc holidays...I planned of where to brinģ P since it is end of summer beginning of autumn. Then i got a phone call from my uncle saying that ah ma fell down n had hip fracture....No more holidays but bought a tix to return to Kuching. Just as i have bought tix from Mas, didnt expect it to be cheaper than Airasia. The news of MH370 gone missing reported everywhere on news, all personnel are still busy looking for the the missing plane.

This was the first time i left P in ATM's care for more than 5h. I went back for 8 days to take care of ah ma and settled home care for her. For a 90 yo to undergo surgery twice in a week is really a lot of stress. 4 units of blood were transfused. It was my first time seeing ah ma in so much pain, she cried and said she rather die as the pain was too much to bear. It really pains my heart to see her suffer. After the 2nd surgery all went well n pain is manageable and we did physio on her leg to prevent muscle shrinkage. Since ah ma is bed bound and is on diapers. It was my first time changing diapers and clearin poo poo for adult. Then came the constipation issue and ah ma was readmit again. It was decided to sent ah ma to nursing home so professional can take care of her till she recover. Called ah ma last nite, she said she is getting better and is eating.

Yesterday ATM left for Perth, his first trip without us too. And P had fever at 40C, tt as the highest i hav ever recorded. I was worried but good thing is that she is active.

Dangerous

We drove pass Frontier primary school this morning and parents were sending the kids off to school. Finally i have the chance to show P the scene. She asked if ZH jue jie goes to this school. Yes she is, and ZL didi will be too next year. I hope P can also get in next year. With that P said no... it is scary. Of cos i asked why. She asked if there is a playground in the skool, and is the playground outside the school. She told is dangerous, cars will hit the kids if the playground is outside the school. I wonder why she thinks that way. Well at least safety is her priority.

???

Felt a bit depress upon hearing the news on the missing MAS plane. I tot accident normally happens during take off and landing and seldom in the air. Cant recall when was the last time i took MAS. I have bought tix to Kuching with MAS last night. I m scared, will i be back to my family in 1 piece? It will mark my very first trip without P. ATM too will be flying to WA for biz trip without us.... I m paranoid now.

Nothing that we can do except praying for the staffs and passangers on that flight.

汉语拼音

Feel like the tiger mom in me is trying to force itself out le.... Damn it, I have succumbbed to sign P up for 汉语拼音 class in childcare. Seems like the 老师 is full of fun and she seems to enjoy the class. How much has gone into that i m not sure.

Dinner

Once awhile if i m in a good mood or more like time to spare, i will bake for dessert. Tonight we have angel hair with spinach and bacon bits (P and ATM's fav) and followed by molten lava cake. P was the happiest person in the world. It will be even better if there is a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

During bedtime, P told me that she had a delicious dinner and would like to cook for me when she is old like me. I was very touched that she wanted to cook for me... It is the tot that counts.... 没白疼你了....

华文

I suck in Chinese, have no idea how to teach her. So i asked her to write down the chinese characters that she knows.

I m proud that she is able to write the following few characters.
