Lunchbox

 P has been asking for lunchbox aka bento. Perhaps it is a me issue, i haven been cooking for like the past 2-3 months since the old folks been here. Of cos it is a break for me but too bad i fell sick.... Fell sorry that the poor gal has been asking for her lunchbox. She told me she wanted, hello kitty, teddy bear and octopus in her lunchbox. Told her to give me sometime, i promise to make one for her when i m free....

In another 1.5 wk times, the old folks will be going back. Yipee, i will get my freedom back. Currently my house is like a refugee camp, boxes and luggages everywhere. Another 3-4 wk, we will be welcoming someone new to our family. In 5 wk times, we will be going home, this will be P's second trip. In another 7 mth, we will be attending Y's wedding and P will the flower girl. This is a very happening year, 2 newcomers joining our family.

DIY Hello Kitty

P saw it on my thumb n begged me to draw on her nails. Too bad our house rules is children not allowed to color their nails on school day. Haha

Numeral

P has been practising writing on her new whiteboard. So far so good, I can see that she is trying her very best to write. Last night she wrote 1 to 10 on her own except 8 and 9 she needed coaching. ATM also went thru 1 to 20 with her but after 16 she cant focus anymore.

P, u r doing a great job. Keep it up

New whiteboard

Bought a new whiteboard and P wrote her name on it to claim ownership. If my BM teacher saw the writing she will comment 'cakar ayam'. Well i think it is a good start writing on her own without help or dotted line.

Bloody Mossies

Swollen eyelid

I saw a red bump on her right eyelid the night before, and i was cursing at the mossies. When P woke up the next morning, her eyelid was so swollen, i think she even has problem opening her eye. The eyelid was hot and itchy, lucky she didnt scratch it.

 

After school, brought her straight to our GP to get some medication for the swollen eyelid. The swell went down slightly, hopefully it will subside by end of the week......

 

Wonder where the mossies came from, comfirm nt from my house, since i dun have potted plants. Almost all corner of the house, there is a bottle citronella which act as a mossie repellent....... Doctor suggested we call NEA for a check.......

Kuti-Kuti

Was reading the pamplet that P brought home regarding the camp over breakfast, cant help but wonder what is kuti-kuti, cos i only know kutu. So i asked ATM, he was so yaya and had the exact reply like her daughther, 'Huh, you dont know kuti-kuti?' and started laughing at me.... From where i grew up, i never came across this kuti-kuti game but we are expert in playing congkak, gasing, layang-layang and guli.

This camp is a good opportunity to expose P to all this traditional games that kids in kampong played. As there is nt much opportunity for us to show her this games unless we goes to Msia or Indonesia.

3D2N Genting

P's cc having teachers' training on Fri, ATM decided to go on a short trip to Genting and stayed at First World Hotel. Weather at Genting was not very cold, it is between 20-25C, but it did damage to my cough, i been coughing nonstop due to the cold. It was P's 1st debut to Genting and might be her last since both of us will not come again : ). We spent the whole Friday at the indoor and outdoor theme park, P enjoyed herself with all the rides that she can take. Due to her height, she was not allowed on almost 50% of the rides. My parents enjoyed themselves. I m just happy to see that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Chatter Box

Almost half a year gone, and P is turning 4yo soon. What do i see? She has grow taller, but she is still wearing her old uniform (not complaining her, cos uniforms are getting expansive now thought the design are nice). Her gross motor skill definately improve alot, going up and down the stair with alternate leg without holding onto the wall. She is running and jumping on one leg (though not very good but finally she can do it). Currently they are playing hopstotch in school, she is trying her best to jump on one leg. I saw her practising that at home. Fine motor skill, still ok, she enjoys her Lego and she can write now (not very nice but i think is acceptable but will need improvement). Oh did i say she can draw, at least i can tell what she is drawing and she can color between the lines. When i saw her do that, i was so surprise.

Her speech has improved, she is able to pronounce a long word in syllabus (totally caught us by surprise there). She can sing pretty well both in Mandarin and English. Her memory are better (maybe those DHA works), she is able to reason with us. Like why i should punish ATM and so on, not to mention she is a super complain queen. Her maths skills, we are trying to introduce addition and substraction to her.....

She is still very shy when meet with stranger, will not say hi or even look at them in their eyes.

Public Speaking

P's Speech and Drama class's topic for this month is Public Speaking. It is nt my expertise, i shall pass it to ATM to practise with P.

I remembered when i was in Sec 2, i fainted on stage during syarahan competition. It was so embarassing..... As i aged, giving presentation during lecture are important, i didnt fare very well there. So i forced myself into teaching and tutoring to boast my confident.... Though is getting better than before, i still think i m not good at it. If you cant speak well in public, u will be 1 step behinds others.....

I hope P will be noting like me.....

Remission

Viral fever had make it a come back to me again, my cough has gone from ok to worst..... At times i feel like i m coughing out my lungs. Dear P has been deligently feeling my forehead with her hand and tell me hot or warm, so sweet....

I feel tt as i aged, my healthy is going down the hills..... With the remission of viral fever, i wont be given antibiotic since i just finish 1 course.... So ATM took me to TCM. I bring P to TCM for normal health maintainance but seldom for myself. TCM told me that I m super heaty like a great ball of heat, she said that i m very tired and all the late nights lead to this...... Argh.... So she did some accupunture, ba guan and gua sha on my back.... Ba guan and gua sha are really painful...... but after all this i stopped coughing..... i feel so much better..... amazing huh?

Tomolo will be P's turn to visit TCM since she is having a bit of phelgmy cough and mild runny nose..... I have been deligently doing chest physio on her to loosen the phelgm....

Long waited Good News

I have been depressingly sick with reoccurence viral fever and worsening cough. But this piece of good news had shown me some sunshine and my cough seems to stop as well. Finally finally, P's policy has been approved without any riders or exclusions. She will be covered for death, TDP and critical illnesses not like the other insurance that we had for her only covers her for death and TDP. I feel so much relief now, to see that she will be covered. I might sound very silly to get so overly excited just to get her child an insurance. It had been 3 long years of struggle just trying to get her a life insurance. We have seen premmies being rejected for their medishield. Well at least now that her policy has been approved..... i feel so much much relief now..... Next is to get her hospitalisation plan..... During this process, we have learnt alot....

Ah Lian in the making

We are trying our best to speak non Singlish to P but......
P: This is my one.....
P: We go playground CAN?
This is the beginning. I know by the time she is in primary, she will be uttering Singlish but i never tot it will be so soon. Whenever she speaks Singlish, we will correct her, hopefully this will work.

I m not discouraging her from speaking Singlish, i, myself speak Singlish with my friends, but when at a formal setting or when I go back to Perth, I switch back to proper English. I m not expecting P to utter Queen's English but just proper English which i know she is capable of. Even my dad hates it when i speak Singlish to him.

RIP Emma

It was a shocking news, when i opened the paper this morning. Emma Yong had moved on, I knew she was suffering from stomach cancer but i never think that life can be so short lived. RIP Emma.

Mac birthday

Thanks to Drypers for the $150 Mac birthday voucher. Yes P is still on diapers at night. Hopefully she will be off it by 5yo, not gonna stress her or me now. Being a kid in Spore is really stressful, it is expexted that they are diaper train by Xyo, know their ABC before 3yo, blah blah... We as in P is never on schedule, we seems to be slower than the peers by abit. Finally our princess has begin her writing journey. She wrote a few 5s on her own yesterday and had got a few thumbs up from us.

Back to birthday celebration, we haven decide whether to have it at Mac or delivered. Since we will be away for 75% of July. We are heading home to enjoy the wet winter. Yes.....  Still have 2 mth to decide. We have asked P abt it but she seems so bo chup all she wan was strawberry shortcake's cake and going on holiday.
